SamanĂ¡ in the Dominican Republic will host the fifth annual Xterra Republica Dominicana Triathlon on 2-3 June 2018. More than 300 local and world-class athletes are set to participate in the event.

Xterra Samana announced for 2-3 June 2018

Samaná in the Dominican Republic will host the fifth annual Xterra Republica Dominicana Triathlon on 2-3 June 2018. More than 300 local and world-class athletes are set to participate in the event.  It will count on Triathlon and Trail Run modalities across Off Road, Trail Run, Stand Up Paddle (SUP) and Kids’ Run disciplines.

Xterra Samaná will be a special event, with valid scoring for the Pan-American Championship, the most recognized franchise in the world for Mountain Triathlon, also providing competitors the opportunity of classifying for the World Championship in Maui, Hawaii.

Rafael Blanco Canto, Executive Vice-President of Viva Resorts, main sponsor of the event expressed that for the last five years the country has undertaken a series of steps to promote sports in the destination. By becoming one of the stops of the world’s most recognized triathlon franchises, puts the Dominican Republic on the map of the sporting world.
